It's Monday night and after a great weekend of Indiana Jones, the Craft and Quilt Fair, cuddles and "me time"... 9 hours of work has completely drained me!
I'm stressed! And my mind won't stop thinking about the unfinished Gillette proposal along with the massive build up of work I've accumulated (due to everything being pushed aside for the Gillette brief). I'm hoping that this blog will act as my pensieve (Magical object from Harry Potter which stores thoughts and memories), freeing me of the mental stress prison I've trapped myself in.
On top of work, a realisation that I haven't been making very much time for those who mean a lot to me, has also got me down. I'm trying to remedy it - dinner with Rox this Wednesday, dinner with Frank this Saturday, Kat's party this Saturday night to catch up with Mel - but I feel that this isn't enough. I've let so many people come in and go out of my life, without making a real attempt to try and keep in touch. Mel aside, my friends from Baulko and Abbotsleigh, then my uni friends - they've all come and gone. Uncle Simon told me that, that is just the nature of life i.e. the flow of chi. We attract other beings (i.e. other bundles of energies) which we have an affinity with, but once your unfinished business with them is complete, the energies flow on. Clinging onto or forcing that other person to stay will only cause negativity as your energies start to repel one another - you just can't stop the flow of chi.
It might be selfish for me to say that I like that theory as it shifts the blame from me (i.e. not putting enough time into the friendships I've lost) to the nature of the universe.
Work Stress and lamenting over lost friendships - definitely not the best start to the week.
