Easter Staycation - Day 3

Another lazy day in... Much needed considering the crazy hectic day we had yesterday.

Yesterday morning, I woke up early and headed to the gym for a run on the treadmill. (Yes, i'm still persevering with my couchto5k training) Then we drove out to Yagoona to check out a furniture place my mum recommended after seeing an ad in the chinese newspaper. Oh, the distance we travel just to get a bargain (and great Lebanese food.) Unfortunately, there was nothing which suited us at Triple J furniture but we did get to treat ourselves to a delicious feast at our favourite Lebanese restaurant el'Alseels. Originally, we planned to try a new place down in Bankstown which Merv had heard good things about but after we pulled in front of a joint which resembled a scene for a potential drive by shooting, we u-turned and ended back at old faithful. After a lunch which had us sporting muffin tops for the rest of the day, we drove out to Spotlight in Lidcome. Our apartment is modern, beautiful and classic but misses some home touches which I'm planning to fix with a fabulous crochet couch throw. So we picked up some beautiful green wool (bulk buy of 30 balls for $60), then proceeded to Auburn for the main mission of the day - to seek out a dining table. We spent 4hrs trawling through Auburn. We went to the Home Maker Centre, the industrial area around the centre, the furniture shops along Parramatta Rd, Nick Scali, Harvey Norman... everywhere! But alas, we came up trumps. The perfect dining table has yet to be found but we will try again tomorrow when shops open. ("If we can't, we MUST!")

After an unsuccessful day of furniture hunting, we drove out to Frank and Sarah's. Wedding chats with Sarah, Pho dinner at Marrickville, gelato dessert, a short visit to a shabby schick apartment, watched the boys play Mortal Combat for the rest of the night - a great night. We have great friends which I am very grateful for.

Today has been a lazy day. Mum and dad are coming over for dinner tonight. We've done some random chores but mainly it's been a day of nothingness. Loving it. I'm going to start on my crochet throw shortly. Stay tuned for progress updates.
